How To Use PDFTK Builder To Join PDF Files

If you have been following my recent review on "PDFTK Builder" and how you can use it to edit pages of your PDF documents. A continuation to that post is this..

We are going to learn how to join or merge several PDF files into one. The approach is simple and similar to the one we have earlier demonstrated.

Below are practical examples of the program in action: The objective here is to merge or join a four pages PDF file into one each.

1. Download PDFTK Builder Windows Program (if you have not already downloaded it) and double click on it or run it to install on PC. Or if you prefer a portable version-install on your UBS Flash Drive

2. Double Click on the PDFTK Builder application to open it or right click on it then select open.

3. Once you have it opened, confirm that you have these 4 Tabs- Join Files, Split File, Background/Stamp/Number, Rotate Pages.

4. Click on "Add" (to add source PDF documents you want to join).

Tip: When you click on "Add", a popup windows' folder will open, select all the PDF files to join. For convenience, it's better to have all the documents in one place inside a folder.

5. After you have selected the files, click on "Open" to load them inside PDFTK Builder. In addition, you can sort, remove unwanted file, move a file up or down. This can be uselful when you are joining files that contains more than one page.

6. Click on "Save As". Give the new PDF file a name to distinguish it from others

7. Click on Exit. The job is completed and you are good to go.

Tip: You will need to confirm from the location of the original PDF files to check if the files were successfully merged.

Please note that, it is possible to have an error if you try to perform a wrong operation. For example, "Pages" should be left emptied unless your PDFs contain page numbers.
